Nicky Cook says the WBO super-featherweight title belongs to him - and he'll take it back from Ricky Burns. But the fiery Scots champion has warned Cook that he will leave Liverpool empty handed.
The pair clash in a battle of Britain on July 16 at Liverpool's Echo Arena.
And there were fireworks today when they met at a head to head press conference at the city's Hilton hotel.
Cook, who lost the WBO crown to Roman Martinez, believes his shot against Burns is the perfect opportunity to heal two years of hurt.
"I lost to Martinez, Burns beat Martinez, so it's the perfect chance for redemption," said the Londoner.
"If I beat Ricky I'm right back to where I was two years ago.
"I'm really looking forward to taking on a Scotsman because there's a bit of history between me and Scottish fighters.
"Scott Harrison ran from me rather than defending his title in the ring.
"And I beat Alex Arthur to lift the WBO crown.
"So I'm looking forward to taking on Ricky and sending him home with nothing more than two black eyes."
But Burns hit back by saying: "I won't pull out like Harrison and I won't lose like Arthur.
"I will be there on July 16 matching Cook punch for punch.
"I beat Martinez, Nicky lost to him, but I can't take anything for granted.
"Every world title fight is a massive one for me because if I lose my title then I will be back to square one.
"I'm really looking forward to fighting Nicky because he's a great fighter and was a great champion.
"But his time has come and gone, and it's me who is the future."
