Joe Ainscough reverses retirement decision, back on November 19

Jay  WBN Editor ‘Kirkdale Kid’ to give boxing another shot Prizefighter semi-finalist Joe Ainscough has had a change of heart about backing away from boxing despite announcing his retirement to World Boxing News in March this year. The 32 year-old made a successful comeback from a life-threatening knife wound to compete and win in the Prizefighter super-middleweight tournament earlier this year before a defeat to Rocky Fielding end his competition. The Liverpudlian has now decided to continue boxing after six months away and has been keeping fit alongside heavyweight David Price, who tops the bill on November 19 th at the Olympia. Jay WBN Editor “Kirkdale Kid” hangs up gloves after Prizefighter semi-final Liverpool’s former ABA champion Joe Ainscough has announced to WBN that his super-middleweight Prizefighter bout with eventual winner Rocky Fielding on Wednesday night, will be the last time the 31 year-old laces on the gloves for a professional contest. Ainscough (8-3-1), showed guts and tenacity in coming back from a serious knife wound to gamely compete for the £32,000 cheque at the Liverpool Olympia in midweek, but has decided to focus on a life outside of the ring and concentrate on his helping youngsters in the sport. “It’s time to call it a day,” Ainscough told WBN Editor Phil D.
