Jay  WBN Editor Indonesian champions successful in Singapore Featherweight world champions Chris John and Daud Yordan remain the WBA and IBO title holders respectively after scoring wide points victories at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. John, 33, moves to 50 contests without defeat following an impressive 119-109 (twice) , 117-111 win over the previously unbeaten Thai fighter Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo and moves on to 48-0-2 as his opponent drops to 44-1. 25 year-old Yordan scored a similar victory to John by carding a 119-110, 118-110, 117-11 unanimous decision over veteran Choi Tseveenpurev to push his record up to 30-2, with UK-based Choi, 41, losing for the sixth time in 42 bouts. Arnel Tinampay, Mohamad Rizan, Muhammad Meeraj and Qiu Xiao-Jun all scored wins on the undercard.

Jay  WBN Editor Marina Bay Sands in Singapore to host November 9 bout WBA featherweight champion Chris John will put his title on the line for the sixteenth time on November 9 as the Indonesian faces Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. Both fighters hold impressive unbeaten records on paper, with John going into his 50th professional bout without a loss and 27 year-old Piriyapinyo holding an unblemished 44-fight sheet with 27 stoppages. John, 33, heads into the contest on the back of another one-sided performance against Shoji Kimura at the same venue in May, whilst Thailand’s Piriyapinyo, who fights for his first world title, has stopped his last six opponents in a row.

Jay  WBN Editor ‘The Kid’ hoping to set up unification bout IBF featherweight champion Billy Dib is hoping that WBA ‘super’ title holder Chris John lowers his demands as he attempts to seal a massive unification fight at 126lbs against the Indonesian. The 26 year-old, who blasted Italian Alberto Servidei out in one round in his first defence of his title last week, sees a victory over the 47-fight undefeated fighter as a route to the top of the division and wants John to be more realistic in negotiations. ''He is out-pricing himself, he is asking for ridiculous figures,'' Dib told The Canberra Times. ''When you are asking for ridiculous figures, that mean you are scared, you are worried - you are trying to get a payout.'' ''I want to unify the division and I want it to be definitive, I don’t want to just win. ''To win definitive is to knock Chris John out - that would be an amazing achievement. ...
