Campbell, 24, took the gold medal in the men’s bantamweight final earlier in the day and was then congratulated by Logan, who announced his victory as a triumph over adversity after the Hull fighter suffered the tragedy six years ago. Unbeknown to presenter Logan, it was Welshman Freddie Evans, who also boxes in an Olympic final tomorrow, who suffered the tragedy as he lost his mother Tracy and sister Scarlett in a car accident in 2006. GB Boxers dreaming of London Success

Great Britain boxing team captain Tom Stalker has revealed that he goes to bed at night dreaming of winning a gold medal at this summer’s Olympic Games. Speaking in a video to mark the launch of Betfair’s partnership with the British Amateur Boxing Association, the 27-year-old admitted it plays on his mind. Tom Stalker said: ”I think about winning gold every night before I go to sleep. But I can’t just think about gold. I’ve got to think about each fight. There’s going to be five tough fights to win the gold and anything can happen. “I went to the Commonwealth Games in India and that was a great experience, I loved that. So to be in my home country and experience what’s going on, to be part of it, I just can’t describe it. It’s going to be brilliant.” Tom’s team-mates are just as excited at the prospect of representing the country on home soil at the Games in July.
