After recently hearing that Felix has announced the date of his next fight (April 13th) in Germany, I would like to make it known that I have still not heard anything of a rematch.   I dont know whether their team have discussed opponents but I am here Felix - ready and waiting. Felix has been a great champion, but both me and him know that night in Mannheim he did not beat me. Felix cannot beat me. He know's I am the better fighter and so I am not expecting him to offer me a rematch. You offered Randy Griffin one and the same to Matthew Macklin, so you have proved that you try and correct close fights (or losses) but i don't think that the Sturm team are confident that you can win this one and as a result they and you will avoid me. Jay  WBN Editor Murray keeps pace with champion in Mannheim Felix Sturm is still the WBA ‘super’ middleweight champion after another close fight in his homeland as the judges in Germany scored his title defence against Britain’s Martin Murray a draw at the SAP-Arena. The 32 year-old commanded the centre of the ring in the first two rounds whilst Murray fought in bursts to keep the German on his toes throughout the first six minutes in a tense start. Murray then began walking through some of Sturm’s better work to gain a foothold in the fight through the middle rounds and was never out of the fight as Sturm battled to keep the challenger at bay. Jay WBN Editor German takes split decision in ‘Fight of the Year’ contender WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm clung to his title tonight in a close battle with Irishman Matthew Macklin in Cologne. The 32 year-old scored his 36th career win with a split decision to defend his belt for the twelfth time since claiming the title in 2006. Macklin, the younger man by three years started fast, throwing over 80 punches in the first round and kept up the pressure on the champion for the first six rounds. The challenger focused on Sturm’s body for the majority of his attacks and noticeably reddened Sturm’s midriff through the early part of the fight. ‘Leonidas’ was still catching Macklin with classy counters and some of the rounds could easily be scored either way, although Macklin did pressure the home fighter relentlessly throughout the twelve rounds.
