The 43 year-old, who was recently stripped of his world title, had hoped to have his ban for alleged steroid use shortened upon appeal, although will now be out of action wl into next year. The outcome of his draw with the US-based Nigerian has also been corrected to a no decision, leaving Tarver stunned by the final ruling. "I really am surprised they didn't shorten the suspension," Tarver told ESPN.com . "I can't explain why it was in my system because I don't know why it was in my system. Jay  WBN Editor Unbeaten contender upset after being overlooked US-based Nigerian Lateef Kayode has been left seething as reports are confirming WBN’s earlier story that Danny Green and Shane Cameron will contest the IBO cruiserweight title in Melbourne this November. The 29 year-old had previously taken former champion Antonio Tarver to a credible draw last June in a contest many thought he did enough to win. Kayode was then expecting a call to be handed another chance after Tarver tested positive for a banned substance in the aftermath and was stripped of the belt. The ‘Power’ fought out a credible draw with the ‘Magic Man’ at the Home Depot Center in a fight that some thought he did enough to win, although Kayode does remain undefeated in his 19 contests. At 29, Kayode has plenty of time to fulfil his ambition of becoming the world cruiserweight champion and told WBN that he will then be heading to the top division in the hope of winning the biggest prize in sport. “I'm ready to fight at any time. Steven Feder I have been informed by The CSAC that Antonio Tarver tested positive for the drug drostanolone, an anabolic steroid.  The substance was found in his pre-fight urine test. My client, Lateef Kayode, trained for 12 weeks by the rule, and we expected the same from Tarver.   (As we would any opponent) We expected a fair fight. I'm shocked in many ways, but as a fan of Antonio's I am saddened. He had a stellar career that will be forever tarnished. He's a talent outside the ring as well and I hope that somehow he can move forward in that arena; however, this is the mark that will resonate.  Neither Lateef nor I expected this, and once we meet this afternoon to further discuss, we will have his personal take. Jay  WBN Editor IBO Champion retains his belt Antonio Tarver kept his IBO cruiserweight title in a tight tussle with Lateef Kayode as the rivals fought out a twelve-round draw that went back and forth at the Home Depot Center in California tonight. Tarver began the bout tentatively, allowing Kayode to get a foothold and put some of the early rounds in the bank, before stepping up his work in the second half of the fight and rocking the Nigerian more than once. The 43 year-old used all his experience and ring know-how to turn the contest around and looked comfortable through rounds 7-11 as the younger Kayode, 29, slowed down into the back straight. The ‘Magic Man’ obviously had the more powerful punches of the two fighters as Kayode looked to work the body and the fight was close right up until the end as I had it 115-113 to Tarver on my scorecard.
