Phil D. Jay  WBN Editor Trainer leaves great memories One of the great trainers in professional boxing, Angelo Dundee died yesterday at the age of 90. Born Angelo Mirena in 1921, Dundee worked with some of the greatest fighters of all time and will be fondly remembered in boxing circles and beyond. The likeable trainer’s most notable fighters were Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, who Dundee trained to multiple world championships throughout his many decades in boxing. The Philadelphian was in Ali and Leonard's corner for all of their great fights, including Ali v Liston, Ali v Foreman, Ali v Frazier and Leonard’s bouts with Hagler and Hearns. In 1994, Dundee also trained George Foreman to becoming the oldest world champion of all time as he defeated Michael Moorer - before being overtaken last year by Bernard Hopkins. Jay  WBN Editor ‘The Greatest’ recovers with family Former world heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali spent Thanksgiving with his family in Las Vegas after a spell in hospital just days after attending rival ‘Smokin’ Joe Frazier’s funeral. ESPN reported that the 69 year-old boxing legend was treated by doctors following the incident and is thought to be back to full health upon his release Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center. "The victim started to pass out in the car and when they got him into the house he fell unconscious," a Police spokesperson explained. "The 911 tape was filled with details of prescriptions and medical details about the victim who was suffering from an on-going medical condition." Ali, who turns 70 in January, is the most recognisable figure in the history of the sport after becoming the first fighter to win a version of the heavyweight title on three occasions in 1978.
