English light-heavyweight champion Danny McIntosh gets the chance to propel himself to European title glory this Saturday, when he takes on home fighter Thierry Karl at the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan in Hauts-de-Seine, France.
The 30 year-old, who’s only defeat was a commonwealth title challenge against former champion Nathan Cleverly in July 2009, when “Big Mac” was stopped in the seventh round against the WBO 175lb title contender and he now faces Karl for the title vacated by Cleverly.
The Norwich man has since recorded two knockout victories in the last year, one of which was an impressive second round count-out of former WBU, Commonwealth and British champion Tony Oakey, who had won four of the trot up to that point.
McIntosh’s opponent is Aisne-born Thierry Karl, who is unbeaten in almost three years and has won his last eight. Karl, 26, has four defeats on his 32 fight record, but has an impressive 18 KO’s in his 28 wins and looks a dangerous opponent for McIntosh.
