Former world light-middleweight champion Luis Ramon ‘Yori Boy’ Campas battered late replacement Marcelo Rodriguez in just over eight minutes last night to record his 99th career win on the same night he celebrated his 40th birthday.
The Mexican hero raised the roof at the Gimnasio Municipal in his home city of Sonora as the 115-fight veteran forced the 33 year-old’s corner to throw in the towel towards the end of the third round.
Campas picked up the lowly regarded WBA Fedelatin middleweight title and a boost up the rankings as he hopes to edge towards a sixth world title attempt.
