Grudge match rivalling DeGale v Groves
The distain felt by WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan
Cleverly for challenger Tony Bellew and vice versa has been given an extra edge
by the altercation that unfolded at the press conference in Cardiff yesterday.
Although the two fighters were not directly involved in the
original incident at the Marriott Hotel, the negative vibes that emanate from
them both towards each other seemed to spill all around the room leading to an awkward
animosity between both camps.
Something like this had been threatening to boil over since
May when the fighters almost took their beef out into the car park at their
first press conference meeting at the O2 and without the presence of Frank
Warren in Cardiff, both camps seemed to misbehave like school children with the
teacher out of the classroom.
One thing is 100% certain though and that is that these two
men don’t like each other one bit and the electricity is similar to the DeGale v Groves
clash in May.
When they collide in the ring on October 15th in Liverpool, the reverberations will be felt all the way to Wales with the winner taking the bragging rights away from the Echo Arena.
