Floyd Mayweather jokes of fighting the Klitschko brothers

‘Money’ frustrated at lack of challenges

Floyd Mayweather has jokingly offered to move up to heavyweight to take on one of the Ukrainian world champion Klitschko brothers after his latest win over Victor Ortiz.

The 34 year-old dominated the WBC welterweight champion over four rounds before a controversial knockout finish saw the unbeaten fighter take Ortiz’s title and claim an eighth world crown, eclipsing Manny Pacquiao’s seven.

‘Money’ has now admitted he is frustrated at not being challenged by other fighters in the welterweight division and said, tongue-in-cheek, that he may now move up to heavyweight to challenge WBA, WBO and IBF champion Wladimir or WBC belt holder Vitali.

“I'm tired of beating up these guys. I'm thinking of moving up to the heavyweights and fighting the Klitschko brothers,” stated Mayweather, who has one major challenge left at 147lbs that the whole boxing world hopes happens in 2012.

A fight between the brash American and the ballad-singing Filipino Pacquiao, 32, would be the highest grossing fight of all time and would finally decide the pound for pound best fighter of this generation as most lists disagree with who is number one.

With 140lb champion Amir Khan moving up in 2012, it would give Mayweather another option and either of those fights would receive a warm receptions from fight fans and assure the 147lb champion of another huge payday.

Jay WBN Editor ‘Suavecito’ scores 20th straight win over Shimoda Undefeated Californian Rico Ramos produced a world-class left hand in the seventh round of his WBA title challenge against Japan’s Akifumi Shimoda to rip the belt away from the older southpaw in his first defence. The 24 year-old looked far from a world champion in the first five rounds, only gaining a foothold in the fight in round six, but ultimately produced the equalizer in the seventh to take the crown.
