Former Contender champion ending busy year with title
defence
NABF light-middleweight champion Grady ‘Bad Boy’ Brewer will
defend his belt for the first time on December 22nd against US-based
Mexican Michael Medina at the Cox Convention Centre in Oklahoma City.
The 40 year-old, who suffered his 13th career
defeat in 41 bout last time out against Demetrius Andrade, puts his title on
the line for the first time since he picked up the vacant strap with a surprise
stoppage of previously unbeaten Fernando Guerrero in June.
The contest represents the American’s fourth fight of the
year after turning out just five times in the four years prior, and a victory for
Brewer would set him up for some bigger contests in 2012.
Medina (24-3-2, 19 KO’s) has lost two of his last three
outings, seemingly failing everytime he steps up a level and will have his work cut out against
the awkward former Contender champion.
