Opponent will be found for ‘Del Boy’
Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight title holder
Dereck Chisora will still take his place on the bill at Wembley Arena this
Saturday despite the withdrawal of scheduled opponent Larry Olubamiwo last
night.
The 27 year-old, who lost out to Tyson Fury in July in his
first career loss, was left seething as ‘The War Machine’ pulled out of their
heavyweight clash with just four days to go through illness and the Barnet
fighter will still get the chance to add another victory to his 14-1 record at
the weekend.
Frank Warren is known for being a magician at finding
last-ditch opponents and has assured ‘Del Boy’ that his place on the bill will
not be altered by Olubamiwo’s last minute pull-out.
An announcement should be made in the coming days, with the huge card being topped by Ricky Burns' interim WBO battle with Australian Michael Katsidis and backed-up by George Groves' first defence of the British super-middleweight title.
Coverage of the card starts at 6pm on BoxNation (Sky Channel 456)
