Super-middleweight prospect Rocky Fielding will be
travelling to Germany next week to cheer on gym-mate Martin Murray in Mannheim
as he challenges Felix Sturm for the WBA ‘super’ middleweight title.
The 24 year-old, who burst onto the scene with his
spectacular Prizefighter victory in March this year, is convinced his friend can
pull off a shock on December 2nd and keep his unbeaten record intact.
“There a good few of the lads out of the gym going over to
Germany,” Fielding told World Boxing News.
“We are all behind him 100% and I will be ringside for it cheering
him on all the way.”
“He has got great experience in his corner with Oliver
(Harrison) and Johnney Roye, both top coaches so we are expecting a good fight.
“Both fighters have similar styles and I think there is going
to be fireworks on December 2nd.
“The fight will go off from the first bell, but I can see
Martin pulling through and winning whether by stoppage or points - it doesn’t
matter but he will take Sturm’s title,” he added.
Murray, 29, is at the peak of his career after putting
together a 23-fight unbeaten run and faces by far his biggest test at the SAP
Arena as he attempts to become the first man to beat Sturm in five years.
