Prospect heads to 26-2 with Zepeda triumph
Canadian middleweight David Lemieux got his derailed career
back on track last night with a second round knockout victory over Mexican
Jaudiel Zepeda at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
The 23 year-old boasted a remarkable 25-0 record with 24 stoppages eighteen months ago, prior to suffering back-to-back defeats to Marco Antonio Rubio and Joachim
Alcine in 2011 and is now back to winning ways with a customary stoppage.
Lemieux looked back to his old best, working behind his jab
in the first, before picking his shots beautifully in the second to put Zepeda
down with a right hand to the head. The home fighter then worked the body and a
crisp left hook ended the fight as the Zepeda, 29, took the full count midway
through the second.
