‘Diablo’ awaiting finalisation for Polish bout
Francisco Palacios has revealed to WBN that he has now
signed on for a return with WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in
Poland this September and is awaiting confirmation from the title holder’s
team.
The rematch is fourteen months in the making after the pair
shared a controversial twelve round split decision in favour of the champion in
April 2011 at the Hala Luczniczka in Bydgoszcz and Palacios has been ready to go again since the first bout.
“As far as I know, the rematch with Wlodarczyk is supposed
to happen at the end of September,” Palacios told World Boxing News.
“The venue they have stated is Poland, but that is not yet
confirmed and I have already signed my part of the deal. I am just waiting on
them.
"This fight means the world to me. I thank Wlodarczyk for accepting the rematch and not going against the ruling of the WBC.
"I hope he makes sure my belt is shiny because I'm bringing it back were it belongs around my waist.
"Thank you for all my fans and this fight is dedicated to all of you. I will be world champion. God bless you all," he added.
