Mayweather taunts Pacquiao over super-fight

WBA light-middleweight title challenger and current WBC welterweight champion Floyd ‘Money Mayweather couldn’t resist one final dig at rival Manny Pacquiao after he announced his May 5^th bout yesterday afternoon.

The 34 year-old, who has signed on to challenge Miguel Cotto for a ninth world title in the spring, took to his social media bases on Facebook and Twitter to lambast the Filipino for not accepting his forty million dollar offer to fight.

“I am fighting Cotto on May 5th because Miss Pac Man is ducking me,” stated the five –weight world champion, who will begin a jail term just four weeks after his fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao, 33, is overwhelmingly tipped to oppose Timothy Bradley on June 9^th at the same venue and it is still hoped that both fighters can agree to a November clash - once Mayweather has served his 90-day prison sentence.

Derry Mathews willing to offer Scott Harrison title shot

Jay WBN Editor British champion open to fight with former WBO title holder According to Scott Harrison’s manager Alex Morrison, the Scot has been offered the chance to fight British champion Derry Mathews later in the year. The possbile fight hinges on whether Mathews can come through a rematch with Gavin Rees next month at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield. Morrison is looking to fast-track his fighter to a world title shot in 2013 and sees the Lonsdale belt as an ideal stepping stone for Harrison as he makes his comeback from a seven-year absence. The 34 year-old fights Brahim Bariz in his first fight since 2005 at the end of the month at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow and wants to move as quickly as possible on to a potential shot at a world champion. Harrison held the WBO featherweight title on two occasions in the past and now campaigns at lightweight.
