‘Del Boy’ predicts super-fight will collapse
British heavyweight Dereck Chisora has more time on his
hands of late following the British Board of Boxing Control’s decision to
revoke his boxing licence last month.
The 28 year-old is now weighing in on other issues in the
sport as he seeks to keep his name in the media until the BBofBC decides to
allow him to renew his career.
Asked by RT.com
whether he felt any emotion about the incident that cos him his right to box in Britain, Chisora replied: “Emotions can
never help you fight anything.
“I don't know, maybe for other fighters it does, but for me
– no. I do it because I enjoy it and there's no emotion in it. Everything I do,
I do because I enjoy it.”
Chisora was then asked about the Mayweather v Pacquiao
situation after admitting that he sees Floyd Jr. as the best fighter on the planet,
to which he pronounced: “That fight is
never, ever gonna happen because they make more money when they fight other
people.
“If they fight each other and one of them loses – it's just
pointless,” said Chisora.
‘Del Boy’ was speaking on his recent visit to Moscow and is enjoying the infamy of his a new-found fanbase in Central
Europe. Chisora is continuously touted to be in line to face Alexander Povetkin
later this year and could conceivably acquire a Russian license to make the
fight happen.
