‘Pittsburgh Kid’ to fight Negron on August 18

Former world lightweight champion Paul Spadafora is pencilled in to fight for the 47th time in Chester, West Virginia on August 18th having never tasted defeat since turning professional in 1995.

The 36 year-old, who has long been linked to a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr, holds an impressive 45-0-1 record, with 19 knockouts, but has been dogged with outside of the ring troubles for the last ten years.

The southpaw now faces veteran Puerto Rican Wilfredo Negron at the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort as he looks to get his career back on track following another extended period on the sidelines.

Negron, 39, is well and truly on the way down in his career, having only won once in his last ten contests and should not present a problem for Spadafora as he looks to gain a first title shot at 140lbs.
