Boxing champion brushes off pro career talk
Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams has suggested that a
career in the professional ranks is of no interest to her and seems set to
focus her efforts on becoming a double champion in four years time.
The 29 year-old from Leeds, who took the flyweight title at
the recent London games, was greeted by hundreds of fans as she took her medal
on a tour of her hometown and revealed her initial plans to the attending
media.
“I haven’t had a chance to think about that but I am
definitely looking for 2016 - why not, double Olympic champion?” She told the
Yorkshire Post.
On returning to Leeds, Adams added: “It feels really good to
be back. The amount of support I have had from Leeds and Yorkshire has been
amazing.”
