Italian Sensation remains undefeated
Welterweight prospect Phil Lo Greco came back from a
shuddering knockdown in the first round to claim his 25th straight professional
win against late replacement Daniel Sostre.
The 28 year-old, who was due to face Humberto Toledo, was
rocked by a huge shot by Sostre towards the end of the first, before staggering
back to his corner in bad shape.
Lo Greco then brushed off the mini-crisis from the second
round by using his superior boxing skills and was never in danger from that
point on in the fight, landing some big punches of his own.
Sostre, also 28, was never able to regain a foothold in the fight and
after taking a barrage of punishment in the fifth and sixth rounds, was stopped in the seventh after shipping several unanswered shots.
Also on the card, former world title challenger Demetrius
Hopkins improved his record to 32-2-1 with a twelfth career stoppage after
halting Joshua Snyder in five rounds.
