‘Desert Storm’ reeling at rematch collapse
WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley remains frustrated
as his attempts to set up a second outing with Manny Pacquiao collapsed after the former title holder chose to face Juan Manuel Marquez for a fourth time on
December 8.
The 29 year-old was at one time the clear favourite to face
the Filipino in a return of their contentious first meeting in June after
claiming a hollow victory over the ‘Pacman’ in a bout he clearly lost.
Bradley had, not surprisingly, kept a low profile since the
victory at the MGM Grand, but has now become more vocal as he realises his
chances of securing another massive pay-day are crumbling beneath him.
The Californian is set to be left with little options for the first defence of his newly-acquired title and still awaits a date for his next fight as Pacquiao stalled on making his decision - which has now shocked him into goading the eight-weight champion.
“What the public needs to know is Pacquiao, their No. 1
dude, doesn't care about his loss,” Bradley told The Desert Sun.
“You need to redeem yourself because Tim Bradley beat you.
You need to come back and redeem that loss.
“In my eyes, chicken (expletive), chicken, chicken, chicken.
I'm too much for these boys, man.”
Maybe a slot as chief support would not be out of the
question as Bradley is signed to the same promotional company as Pacquiao,
although it is debatable whether he would accept such a position having been
handed the win in the summer.
