‘White Tyson’ dispatches journeyman
Former WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev improved to
30-3 with his third straight victory in Oberhausen tonight after putting an
out-of-depth Werner Kreiskott on the canvas three times on his way to a seventh
round victory.
The 33 year-old, who has been linked to a clash with unbeaten
Tyson Fury in November, had no trouble hurting the 18-loss Kreiskott from early
on in the contest and with two knockdowns in the fifth, the writing was on the
wall.
A heavy shot by southpaw Chagaev early in the seventh proved
to be the finisher and the Uzbek can now move on to some tougher challenges as
he seeks a fourth career world title shot.
Also on the card, Nadia
Raoui successfully defended her WIBA flyweight title with a unanimous
decision win over Sampson Buamas, whilst Maurico
Reynoso and Patrick Dobroschi
overcame their respective foes.
