WBN ready to launch World Sports News

We am delighted to be able to announce that new website World Sports News will soon be fully operational on the back of the success of World Boxing News.

World Sports News will an extension of WBN and will provide the top news from the sports world all in one place, along with articles from the original site.

WSN now comes into fruition after the popularity of WBN, which is now one of the most visited independent boxing websites in the world and has helped in the process of making WSN possible.

The aim of World Sports News is to bring together the most sought after news for sports fans via original articles, feature articles and links to some of the top news and sports news sites in the world.

The most popular sports in the world from a UK perspective, along with some of the most loved from the US will feature, and all the major news stories from any other sports will make it on to the WSN site for our readers to browse via links to other sites.

We hope to provide our viewers with a platform for them to avoid trawling through all the different sports sites as well as providing some original material from our hard-working team.

WBO #4 Orlando Cruz comes out as the first openly gay boxer in history

Orlando Cruz, a professional boxer from San Juan Puerto Rico (18-2-1, 9 KOs), former Olympian and currently ranked No. 4 Featherweight by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), is announcing today that he ”Is a proud gay man.” Cruz is the first openly gay man in boxing history.  “I’ve been fighting for more than 24 years and as I continue my ascendant career, I want to be true to myself,” said Cruz.  “I want to try to be the best role model I can be for kids who might look into boxing as a sport and a professional career.  I have and will always be a proud Puerto Rican.  I have always been and always will be a proud gay man.” Orlando Cruz began boxing at the age of 7 and posted an amateur career record of 178-11.  He won 7 Puerto Rico National Title's and spent 4 years on The Puerto Rican National Team.  Cruz won 7 Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze in various international tournaments.  His amateur career culminated as a representative of the 2000 ...
