Filipino denies any mega-fight negotiations
Eight-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao has confirmed
that his link up with former Floyd Mayweather partner 50 Cent is not an aide to
securing a big money fight with the rappers one-time best friend.
The welterweight star, who takes on Juan Manuel Marquez for
a fourth time later this year, has surprisingly formed a working relationship
with ‘Fiddy’ on the back of his public fall-out with the pound for pound king,
but won’t be talking a multi-million dollar clash just yet.
"We are talking right now but we are not finalising
yet," Pacquiao told ESPN.
"I will be working with him to promote fights. I am not talking about
Mayweather with 50 Cent. We are discussing business."
Pacquiao, 33, has publicly stated that he is now willing to
back down on his demands for a 50/50 split with Mayweather for a potential
super-fight, although whether 50 Cent had any influence on that decision
remains a mystery for now.
