Jaw injury costs ‘Archie’ title
An alleged confrontation with WBC light-middleweight
champion Saul Alvarez seems to have cost Ulises Solis his IBF light-flyweight
after a jaw-injury meant the Mexican was unable to meet the deadline to face
interim champion Johnriel Casimero.
The 30 year-old was reportedly involved in a street brawl
with Alvarez and his companions, suffering a badly broken jaw and the IBF have now acted after Solis needed another six months to recuperate.
Casimero, 22, was himself involved in a applaing situation as he
stopped Luis Lazarte last February in Buenos Aires. The win over the home-fighter lead to a full-scale riot
in which scores were injured as he picked up the interim version.
'Quadro Alas' has now been installed a full title holder and could make his first defence of the belt by the end of the year.
