Heavyweight contender set to ignore British clash
Tyson Fury has decided to turn a blind eye to Saturday’s
heavyweight grudge match between one-time world champion David Haye and former
opponent Dereck Chisora as the pair meet at Upton Park in London.
The 24 year-old is ready to step up to the top level of the
division following a 19-fight unbeaten run and after previously calling out the
winner, is no longer prepared to entertain a fight with either and won’t be
tuning in to BoxNation.
“I won’t be watching Haye v Chisora,” Fury told World Boxing
News.
“They are has-been fighters. It is just two failures attempting
to seek glory at world level.
“While Haye and Chisora are fighting a meaningless fight to
fill their pockets and deceive the public, I will be taking on world class
fighters,” he added
6ft 9ins Fury is eyeing the likes of Tomasz Adamek and
Alexander Povetkin on his way to a shot at Wladimir Klitschko and has a warning
for the elite fighters in the division as he seeks out his first world-class
challenge.
“I am going to smash them all in,” said Fury. I am prepared to die for my dream.”
