Year absence ends with Gairy St Clair
Former two-weight world champion Lovemore Ndou has lined up
his 64th professional outing next month as ‘The Black Panther’ meets
one-time unified super-featherweight title holder Gairy St Clair in Queensland,
Australia.
Ndou, who turns 41 in the wake of his scheduled contest, has
been out of the ring since losing a one-sided unanimous decision to Kell Brook in Sheffield, England and it had been thought that his career was winding down.
The Sydney-based fighter is all set to go again though on
August 10 at Southport RSL Club and will look to inflict a twelfth defeat on ‘Superman’
St Clair, who last fought in March 2011, losing to Ryan Waters.
St Clair, 37, has fought the likes of Diego Corrales, Amir
Khan and Cassius Baloyi with varied success and peaked in 2006 when he captured
the IBF and IBO belts at 130lbs. The Sutherland fighter has won just four of twelve contests since then and
was stopped for the first time in his career in 2009.
