‘Siri’ continues good form with Gutierrez victory
WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido made another successful
foray up to 130lbs with a third round stoppage win over Moises Gutierrez at El
Palenque de la Feria in Nayarit, Mexico.
The experienced world title holder came out with a purpose
from the first bell and although Gutierrez offered some resistance in round
two, the outcome was never in doubt as Salido was clearly on another level.
The end came in the third, with Salido scoring with a
crunching combination to put the Chilean on the floor and even with just ten
seconds left in the round, Gutierrez was in no position to continue.
The 31 year-old now moves on to a possible defence of his
title against the unbeaten Oxnard fighter Miguel ‘Mikey’ Garcia and will go
into the contest on an impressive run of five knockouts.
