NABF lightweight champion Ray Beltran 26-6 (17KOs) won a unanimous decision over Ji-Hoon Kim 24-7 (18KOs) in a great brawl.
In a contest filled with high action, knockdowns, brutal punches and low blows, Raymundo Beltran and Ji-Hoon Kim entertained the Las Vegas crowd with a fight that lived up to it’s hype.
The fight started out as a massive brawl. Kim landed a left hook midway through the round to dropped and hurt Beltran.
Beltran landed a left hook of his own on Kim dropping him with ten seconds remaining in the opening round.
The action was hard and heavy in round two with great shots landed by both. Beltran hurt Kim with a left hook to the body in the closing moments as Kim barely survived the round.
Kim showed signs of body damage in the beginning of round three as Beltran continued to land nasty blows to the guts of Kim.
Kim kept throwing punches but looked as if he didn’t have much behind them.
The action continued with Beltran landing more vicious body shots and Kim fighting on pure heart alone. The fight ended with both fighters delivering punishing blows.
Scores were 98-92, 98-92, 97-93 Beltran.
Undefeated super bantamweight star Jessie Magdaleno 13-0 (9KOs) won an impressive eight round unanimous decision over a very rugged Jonathan Arellano 13-2-1 (3KOs) to win the NABA Youth super-bantamweight title.
It looked as if Magdaleno was going to blast Arellano out in round one, although It didn’t happen. Magdaleno landed a right hook early in round two that sent Arellano to a knee.
Arellano kept coming but was beaten to the punch in the heated exchanges by Magdaleno’s jab, straights and right hooks.
In round six, Magdaleno landed a vicious right hook followed by a barrage of combos that sent Arellano down for a second time in the fight. Arellano barely held on but managed to survive the round.
Arellano was the victim of some hellacious punches in this fight but managed to survive until the final bell. Scores of the fight were 80-70, 80-70, 80-69 Magdaleno.
Super featherweight and 2012 Olympian Felix Verdejo 1-0 made his professional debut a successful one winning a unanimous decision over previously undefeated Leonard Chavez 1-1 (1KO)
In a competitive scrap of two unbeaten prospects, Verdejo started off controlling the fight but as time went on Chavez stood his ground and made it a brawl.
Undefeated featherweight prospect Evgeny “The Mexican Russian” Gradovich 15-0 (9KOs) won a technical knockout over a tough William Villanueva 10-5-1 (2KOs)
Gradovich came out swinging in round one that basically set the entire pace of the fight. He then delivered a crushing left hook to the body that dropped Villanueva in round five. Referee Robert Byrd ruled a knockdown in round six when Gradovich landed a combo that sent Villanueva into the ropes and Gradovich ended the contest with a flurry that prompted the referee to stop the fight.
Tough veteran Robert Osiobe 13-5-4 (6KOs) defeated previously unbeaten lightweight prospect Jose Roman 15-1-1 (11KOs) by split decision.
Osiobe and Roman fought closely contested fight throughout. Osiobe’s pressure and power punches won seemed to have won the judges throughout those rounds. A right uppercut by Roman to the body of Osiobe, dropped him in the last round. Scores were 76-75 76-74 for Osiobe and 77-74 Roman.
