Heavyweight prospect Deontay Wilder registered his 26th stoppage in 26 bouts inside four rounds with a third round knockout win over previously undefeated Kelvin Price at the LA Sports Arena.

The 'Bronze Bomber' made heavy weather of the first two rounds as the crowd booed, but then exploded with an overhand right early in the third and that was the end of Price as the referee pulled out of the count after three handing Wilder the win.

Light-middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo looked to be in for a routine night's work against Jorge Silva as the Mexican was on the verge of a stoppage on more than one occasion in the first four rounds.

Silva, 20, fought back gallantly though to defiantly make it to the final bell and cause 'Perro' one or two problems along the way as all three judges handed Angulo a 97-93 victory to push his record to 22-2 with 18 stoppages.

Shawn Porter lost his perfect record after an entertaining ten round battle with former lightweight champion Julio Diaz. The American was dragged into a war with the Mexican and proved his chin as the two fighters gave their all from start to finish.

Two of the ringside judges scored the fight 96-94 either way, with the third carding 95-95 to possibly set up a rematch in the New Year. Porter's new record stands at 20-0-1, whilst Diaz moves to 40-7-1.

His father William Sr, once fought Welterweight Champion Curtis Cokes and wanted his boy to follow in his footsteps, so decided to train Billy himself. Collins Jr. turned pro in 1981, a welterweight, just like his father before him and impressively won his first 14 professional contests, 11 by knockout with eight inside the first three rounds. It was 1983 and Billy was matched up against Puerto Rican journeyman Luis Resto on the undercard of Roberto Duran v Davey Moore at Madison Square Garden in a ten rounder. Resto wasn’t known for his punching power but Billy took a sustained beating for the full ten rounds, his face, badly damaged and his eyes were almost shut. After the fight, which Resto won on decision, Billy’s father shook Resto’s hand and noticed there wasn’t much padding in his gl...
