New
Yorkers to appear at Barclays Center
WBO
middleweight champion Peter Quillin and former title challenger Danny Jacobs
have both been pencilled in to appear on the upcoming Danny Garcia v Zab Judah
undercard in Brooklyn, New York.
Golden
Boy CEO Richard Schaefer confirmed the news to WBN today, along with dismissing
any possibility of a rematch between Quillin and Frenchman Hassan N’Dam at the
same venue where the two fought an entertaining battle last October.
The
Barclays Center bill, which is topped by the grudge match between feuding
light-welterweights Garcia and Judah, will be the second huge card to feature
at the impressive venue since it’s completion this year.
Also
taking a slot on the undercard is the in-form Danny Jacobs, who has stopped two
opponents since resuming his career following a life-threatening illness and
will aim to improve his 24-1 record on the night.
Jacobs,
25, stopped Josh Luteran in just 73 seconds the last time he graced the arena
and could potentially be in-line for another world title in 2013, against all
the odds - if he can continue his progress on February 9.
Both
fighters’ opponents will be announced in the near future.
